Dr David Fisher
Dr Fisher attended Queen's University and obtained a BSc in Life Sciences. He received his Medical Degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Dublin, in 1990. He completed Residencies in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He received American Board Accreditations in General Surgery (1997) and Plastic Surgery (2001). He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeon of Canada in 1998.
He undertook Craniofacial Fellowship training in Paris with Dr Daniel Marchac, in Taiwan with Dr Samuel Noordhoff and Dr Yu-Ray Chen, and in Toronto at The Hospital for Sick Children.
He joined the staff of the Division of Plastic Surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children in 2000 as Medical Director of the Cleft Lip and Palate Program. His practice is entirely paediatric with a focus in Cleft Lip and Palate and Ear Reconstruction.
He is a member of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, American Board of Surgery, American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons, and Operation Smile. He is President Elect of the International Society for Auricular Reconstruction. He recently completed a BFA at York University and is currently pursuing an MFA at OCAD University.
Dr Dennis Hammond
Dennis Hammond, MD, is a plastic surgeon, Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He received his MD and undergraduate education at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor; his combined general surgery and plastic surgery training at the Grand Rapids Area Medical Education Center also in Michigan. He completed two Fellowships; one in Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Breast in Nashville, TN and the second in Hand and Microsurgery in Milwaukee, WI. His primary areas of specialisation are aesthetic breast surgery, breast reconstruction, revisionary breast surgery and body contouring.
As a well-respected international speaker, Dr Hammond is in continual demand to lecture at peer-level conferences worldwide and in the United States. He designed and marketed his own tissue expander for breast reconstruction, developed the internationally utilised BodyLogic evaluation system used for implant resizing and breast augmentation and has participated in every known breast implant study since 1990.
He has authored numerous publications and book chapters, co-edited two textbooks on breast surgery, has authored his own Atlas of Aesthetic Breast Surgery and he continues to pursue an active clinical and research interest in every aspect of aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery.
Dennis Hammond is a member of and serves on, numerous committees for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and for the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). He is also a member of the prestigious American Association of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr Hammond has performed live surgery as part of surgical demonstrations at various meetings all over the world, including at the prestigious Baker-Gordon Aesthetic Surgery Symposium and multiple times at the Atlanta Breast Symposi.
Dr Frederick Menick
Frederick J. Menick M.D. is recognized as one of the world’s foremost experts in nasal reconstruction.
Described by peers as “the finest nose-maker in the history of medicine” and “the leading specialist in reconstruction of today’s nose”, Dr Menick has developed an innovative approach to aesthetic nasal reconstruction, reinforced by time-tested principles and informed by 35+ years of clinical practice.
Dr Menick graduated from the Yale School of Medicine. He completed general surgical training at Stanford University and the University of Arizona. He then specialized in plastic surgery with advance fellowships at the University of California, Irvine, Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, England, and the University of Miami under Dr Ralph Millard M.D.
Dr Menick is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgery, and the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is past president of the Rhinoplasty Society as well as former Chief of Plastic Surgery at both the University of Arizona and the Southern Arizona Veterans Administration Hospital.
His contributions to the field of plastic surgery have been recognized by numerous honors and awards, including the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons Special Honorary Award for his “significant contributions to the advancement of maxillofacial surgery and his leadership in the speciality” (2015). He is also a two-time recipient of the James Barrett Brown Prize, presented by the American Association of Plastic Surgery for “advancement of knowledge in the field of plastic surgery” (2003, 1990).
Dr Menick has authored 3 textbooks and more than 100 book chapters on nasal and facial reconstruction. He has also edited 3 books on facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery and offers a comprehensive overview of nasal reconstruction and rhinoplasty on eMedicine, a web-based clinical reference guide.

Dr Gregory Evans
Dr Gregory Evans is the Professor of Plastic Surgery and Biomedical Engineering, Founding Chair, Department of Plastic Surgery, Past President American Society of Plastic Surgeons, past director of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and currently Senior Trustee and the Chair of the International Committee for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr Evans is a medical graduate of the University of Southern California and completed his plastic surgery residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Dr Henry Delmar
As a member of the European Board of Plastic Surgeons (EBOPRAS) and specializing in Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery, Dr Delmar maintains an active role in surgical societies and scientific work. Namely, he has served as a president of the French Society of Aesthetic Plastic surgery (SOFCEP) and is a member of the prestigious International Society of Plastic, Reconstructive Aesthetic Surgery (IPRAS) and the European Society of Plastic, Reconstructive Aesthetic Surgery (ESPRAS).

Dr Jeffrey Janis
Jeffrey Janis is full-time faculty as a Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He is also Chief of Plastic Surgery at University Hospital, Co-Director of the Center for Abdominal Core Health, and holds adjunct appointments as a Professor of Neurosurgery, Neurology, and Surgery. He received his business degree from Washington University Olin School of Business, medical degree from Case Western Reserve, and did his plastic surgery training in Dallas at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he also served as the residency program director and Chief of Plastic Surgery at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
He is a Past President of both the American Society of Plastic Surgeons as well as American Council of Academic Plastic Surgeons, and serves as the President-Elect of the Americas Hernia Society and a Governor on the Board of Governors for the American College of Surgeons.He is also a member of the ACGME’s Plastic Surgery Residency Review Committee.He was recently appointed as the next Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery – Global Open.To date, he has served as a Visiting Professor at 43 major national and international institutions, published 155 peer-reviewed articles, 104 book chapters, and 6 books, with 3 more books and 3 apps pending publication, and has delivered nearly 915 lectures.
Dr Jeffrey Marcus
Dr. Jeffrey Marcus is Professor and Chair of the Division of Plastic, Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at Duke University - one of the oldest training programs in the United States, founded in 1947.He did his training in plastic surgery at Northwestern University in Chicago and fellowships in pediatric plastic surgery and craniofacial surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
He is known worldwide for his expertise in cleft surgery, rhinoplasty, and facial paralysis/reanimation. He is a past-President of the Rhinoplasty Society.
Dr. Marcus and his wife Jill share a great love for South Africa following their APRASSA Visiting Professor visit in 2017.
Dr Patrick Sullivan
Patrick K. Sullivan, MD, is Division Chief, Aesthetic Surgery and Associate Professor, Plastic Surgery Brown University Alpert School of Medicine.
He has been published numerous times in the peer reviewed Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal and was awarded the Best Cosmetic Paper of 2013 by Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal. Dr. Sullivan was the USA recipient of the International College of Surgeons scholarship, which enabled him to work as a Fellow with Dr. Paul Tessier, MD in Paris and Prof. Hugo Obwegeser in Zurich.
He holds a medical degree from the Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minnesota, and completed residencies at both the University of Colorado and Brown University in Rhode Island. Dr. Sullivan is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and American Board of Otolaryngology
Dr Roger Wixtrom
Dr Roger Wixtrom is a board-certified toxicologist and is president of LSCI. Born in 1959, he holds a doctorate in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of California, Davis and was a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
For the past 25 years, Dr Wixtrom has devoted most of his time to evaluating and addressing issues related to the safety of breast implants, in addition to a range of other silicone medical devices and other medical products. Such work has involved assistance with design and interpretation of a multitude of preclinical and clinical studies; presentations before the FDA, Health Canada and the Institute of Medicine; regular attendance at plastic surgery, biomaterials, toxicology and biofilm conferences; and very extensive critical review of the scientific and medical literature.
A primary focus of his is the role of biofilms in capsular contracture and surgical infections, and Dr Wixtrom is a frequent lecturer at physician meetings, seminars, and conferences worldwide.

Dr Scott Levin
L. Scott Levin, MD, FACS, is the Paul B. Magnuson Professor of Bone and Joint Surgery (with tenure), Chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and Professor of Surgery (Plastic Surgery). He is also the Medical Director of the Penn Musculoskeletal and Rheumatology Service Line. Dr. Levin is Board-certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and has a Certificate of added Qualification in hand surgery. In addition, he is Board-certified in Plastic Surgery.
As an accomplished clinician, his expertise focuses on surgery of the hand and upper extremity, reconstructive microsurgical techniques for extremity reconstruction and limb salvage. His research interests focus predominantly on extremity soft tissue reconstruction and vascularized composite tissue allotransplantation.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across medical disciplines, Dr. Levin established and was the Director of Duke’s Human Tissue Laboratory and directed the Anatomic Gifts Program. He also established a Human Tissue Laboratory at Penn, which opened in May 2011. The Human Tissue Laboratory acts as a teaching tool and a research facility benefiting students, residents, and CME participants. Dr. Levin heads the Vascularized Composite Allotransplantation (VCA) Program at Penn and directed the teams that performed bilateral hand and arm transplants in September 2011 and another in August 2016. In 2015, as Director of the Paediatric Hand Transplantation Program of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, he led the team that performed the world’s first bilateral hand transplant in a child.
As a committed educator, Dr. Levin has been recognized for his commitment to teaching with the 2007 Master Clinician/Teacher Award for his accomplishments in both clinical care and education at Duke, and in 2014 was awarded the I.S. Ravdin Master Clinician Award, a Penn Medicine Award of Excellence at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2015, he was named Individual Innovator of the Year at the Philadelphia Business Journal Healthcare Innovator Awards.
Widely published with more than 316 peer-reviewed journal articles, 80 book chapters and 11 books, Dr. Levin also actively participates in senior leadership activities of many international and national professional societies and associations.
Dr. Levin is responsible for developing the field of orthoplastic surgery.
Mr Barry Jones
Mr Jones qualified in medicine from the University of London. He trained initially in general surgery gaining the FRCS degree from Royal College of Surgeons of England. His higher surgical training in Plastic Surgery was based in London but included several travelling scholarships to the United States and Europe and a fellowship in Craniofacial and aesthetic surgery in Paris with Dr Tessier and Dr Marchac. He was awarded the post graduate degree of Master of Surgery by the University of London.
Mr Jones is currently Emeritus Consultant Plastic and Craniofacial Surgeon at the Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street, London; Honorary Senior lecturer at the Institute for Child Health, the University of London; Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the King Edward VII Hospital, London and Hunterian Professor at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Mr Jones has served as the Hon. Secretary and President of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons and continues as a council member. He is an active member of The British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The European Association of Plastic Surgeons, The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, The International Confederation of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons and The International and European Societies of Craniofacial Surgery.
In recent years Mr Jones has been honoured as Visiting Professor in Atlanta, Madrid, Philadelphia (The Robert Ivy Professorship), South Africa, Barcelona and Sydney where he was awarded the Julian Reich Memorial medal for Academic Excellence. He has also been granted the Raymond Villain award by the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. He has published over 120 papers in peer reviewed scientific journals on various subjects, particularly facial aesthetic surgery, breast surgery and craniofacial surgery. Mr Jones is an author of two books: “The Clinical Management of Craniosynostosis”, published by Cambridge University Press in 2004 and “Facial Rejuvenation Surgery” published by Mosby (Elsevier) in 2008.
Prof G Psaras
Georgios Psaras completed his medical studies at the Albert-Ludwigs Universität in Freiburg Germany and his specialty training in Plastic Surgery at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.
He lived and worked for 20 years in Johannesburg where he was appointed professor and chairman of the division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of the Witwatersrand, a position he held until his return to his hometown Lemesos, in Cyprus in 2009.
During his training and his time as a junior consultant he received many awards and fellowships mainly for his research work in cartilage arthroplasty and tendon repair.
He has presented in numerous local and international congresses as an invited speaker and is well published both in local, international medical journals as well as being co-author of a chapter in a textbook.
He has organized a number of conferences and workshops. Of special interest are the Facial Reanimation workshops he organized and executed in Johannesburg, South Africa, aiming to train skilled surgeons in facial reanimation.
He is currently affiliated to “Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry”, Queen Mary University of London, teaching microsurgery.
He is a member of a number of professional boards and associations including the European Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ESPRAS) executive committee. He is currently vice-president of the Cyprus Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (CySPRAS) and an examiner for EBOPRAS. He is an international member of ASPS and chairperson of ESPRAS 2018.
He is medical director and co-founder of the “Smile Foundation”. George is currently in private practice in Lemesos, Cyprus.
Prof Maria Siemionow
Maria Siemionow, M.D., Ph.D., is a world-renowned scientist and microsurgeon. She earned her medical degree from the Poznan Medical Academy in 1974, after which she completed her residency in orthopaedics, and then earned a PhD, in 1985, for her thesis “Evaluation of different microsurgical techniques of vessel anastomosis of diameter less than one millimetre” and also completed a hand surgery fellowship at the Christine Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery in Louisville, Ky.
In 1990, Dr Siemionow was appointed Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Utah, and in 1992, she earned a PhD, DSc for her thesis “Hemodynamics of the microcirculation of the free muscle flap, direct in vivo study”.
She specializes in microsurgery, hand surgery, peripheral nerve surgery, transplantation, and microcirculation research. Prof Siemionow is also leading the way in developing new technology for minimal immunosuppression in transplantation.
Prof Siemionow is the Director of Plastic Surgery Research and Head of Microsurgical Training for Cleveland Clinic’s Department of Plastic Surgery. As Director of Plastic Surgery Research and Head of Microsurgical Training, Prof Siemionow has trained over 100 international Fellows in the field of microsurgery and transplantation research.
She is currently the Secretary of the American Society for Reconstructive Transplantation, as well as the Section Coordinator of Research for the International Registry on Hand and Composite Tissue Transplantation. She is also Past President of the American Society for Peripheral Nerve.
Prof. Maurizio Bruno Nava
Associate Professor and Specialist in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery, Chairman – Scuola di Oncologica Chirurgica Riconstruttiva, Milan, Italy Maurizio Nava achieved his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan in 1977.
He went on to specialize in oncology in 1980 and general surgery in 1986. In 1993, he then specialised in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Since graduating he worked at the National Institute for the Study and Treatment of Cancer in Milan. As Adjunct Professor - School of Specialization in Plastic Surgery, University of Milan, he participates in national and international studies on implants, ADMs, fat cells and microsurgical flaps in oncoplastic breast surgery. He is Honorary President of the Society of Surgical Oncology, a NOT for PROFIT Reconstructive School, that is proposing updates to the international multidisciplinary field of oncoplastic breast surgery, and an exchange of ideas with patients. He is author and co-author of more than 200 publications in Italian, English and Spanish on oncological surgery and reconstructive of the breast. He has organized several international conferences concerning both reconstructive and aesthetic surgery of the breast. He and his team are dedicated to cosmetic surgery of the breast and body.
